  1. I don't suppose anyone has an old service manual or even a parts list for the old 90s Strand Sirios? Nothing on the Strand archive, so this is a bit of a long shot this one and not even sure one even exists, but thought I'd try here. I've a few in need of some TLC that I'd like to give a bit of a breathe of fresh life to. They both flash, but the safety microswitches on them are knackered (so those will need immediate replacement) and would like to know what else I'm potentially looking at going in. I services some years back, and the main thing I remember is them being an utter bastard to get into to replace the ignitors (thankfully not needed in this case).
  2. Much obliged! Replaced one in the past but couldn't for the life of me remember the type. Will be a while before I'm able to get over to him what with the effective lockdown but good to know ahead of time.
  3. Hi all, A friend has contacted me about their old Jands Event 36/72 playing up - sounds like the usual 'overdue a replacement battery' problems. Problem is for the life of me I can't remember what battery they take. I recall it's one of the old soldered in jobs but the specific battery in question evades me and doesn't seem to be stated in the documentation I was able to dig up. I'm not local to them so wanted to get them to order in a replacement before I make the trip to fit it, but they're a bit reticent to open it up and check for fear of messing things up. I don't suppose anyone can recall off the top of their heads?
  4. I also picked a set of these up and am likewise really rather impressed given the price. Far better than anything else I've encountered in this sort of price range. Thanks once again to Jon!
  5. Fairly par for the course for your average UV LED then, not too bad all things considered. That beam angle variance seems fairly minimal as well - I think you may have sold me on these haha. http://www.blue-room.org.uk/public/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif
  6. Very kind of you, they certainly seem to fit the bill.
  7. How much variance would you say there was in the beam angle? Also, on a slightly more niche note, how's the UV output on them? I've been hearing good things on the whole and to be honest for the price I'm half tempted to just roll the dice on a few of them as a budget backup solution for certain jobs.
