Powerdrive and Doughty make good solid product, you might also want to have a look at 'Ultimax'. Although they come across as a bit of a DJ brand, I've used their winch and manual stands and found them very well built and durable.

My day job is with a higher education institution. For certain product categories (particularly CPC only items), there is no discount. I've found that Onecall tends to bias search results towards Farnell - however you may get better pricing through Onecall by feeding it the equivalent CPC part numbers. In my experience Onecall are Ok with non-account orders for personal use, provided that the order is paid for at the time with a card and delivered to a place that does have an account.
I also use CPC/OneCall/Farnell in my day job (at a Uni) and depending on the item, discounted prices are offered via the NUWPEC pricing framework (also available from RS). I'm not sure whether this pricing structure is offered to other types of Educational customers, but probably worth checking.

But surely they could only aspire to these standards if they also have R.D.M. (Really Dodgy Manufacturing)

If these are the black, squarish model with the four IEC sockets on the top, then I would also agree that DMX polarity will be the issue (pin 2 and 3 reversed). I seem to recall though that, rather unhelpfully, the DMX LED flashes whatever polarity the unit 'sees'. Usual safety/competence caveats apply, but it's not a major job to internally re-wire these units.

Never used these myself, but they are on CPCs 'Bargain List' at the moment ..... cheap enough?

Just to add a bit more confusion, this version of the manual;
https://www.manualsearcher.com/beamz/s1500/manual?p=3
Seems to imply that DIP switch 10 has to be on for the machine to be DMX controlled and that channel 1's address is 0000000001 etc. etc.

I'm not competent to comment on their suitability, but they appear to be a type of Unistrut beam clamp;

CPC have just added another badged version of the Thomann controller for £60

Given the weight of the speaker, it might be better to mount it on a straight stand (to keep the centre of gravity more over the base) then add something like this for the mic;

Rycote BBG perhaps?
https://rycote.com/microphone-windshield-shock-mount/bbg-windshield/
Or depending on what's cosmetically acceptable, if it's a short job, it might be easier (and cheaper) to hire full-sized Rycote 'blimps'.

I think your best answer will come from the developer directly - support@lightfactory.net
I've had very prompt responses in the past.

I have no experience of this stuff, it seems to be mostly aimed at the car market - creating a sealed, flexible peel-able coating. It looks like it might be worth a try though.

From the lengthy and extremely tedious 'training' on this subject I had to endure, it's my understanding that email addresses should not be shared (e.g. by using 'cc' fields) unless permission has been given by recipients for those details to be shared.

You don't mention specifically the problems you've encountered in the past, but if you need to keep the lines to the stage balanced, then a dual transformer box at the stage end would almost certainly help.
I have used these and would unhesitatingly recommend the companies products;

and have had good reports about these;

There seem to have a been a few topics lately where fixtures (usually through age or 'bargain pricing') are not happy with a console that is outputting RDM data. However, these could well exist in a rig where it would be advantageous to have RDM enabled for some of the other fixtures. So my question is, assuming one is, using a DMX DA, is there any way to strip off RDM from one of the DMX lines to keep the whole rig happy?
-
I think there's one more step in there; mode > up/down until the display reads 'ChNd' then press enter then use up/down to select the DMX mode then press enter to confirm then press mode again to get out of the menus.
Then, if you're anything like me, wonder why the display is in a strange foreign language only to realise you've been reading it upside-down all along.
BTW, in case you hadn't spotted it, the DMX map is at the very end of the manual.

Great sounding mics, but terrifyingly easy to cross thread the capsules when attaching them to the body. Superseded by the 'Blue Line' system, which I seem to recall did have extension tubes available and a much more robust bayonet fitting system for the capsules, but never seemed to quite capture the market in the same way.

The pin-outs listed here look like it should be a fairly simple job;
https://www.shure.com/en-US/support/find-an-answer/pin-out-for-shure-bodypack-transmitters-and-preamps-ta4m-ta4f
but if I read your question correctly, you only really need a phantom power adapter, and at this price, it's hardly worth the effort of making one ...
