  1. Thanks for all the replies. I just found out we have a Rode Go kit that I can test with. Will connect the TX to an X32 output and the RX to the DSLR and see what happens. Live recording
  2. Hi We wish to take audio from one of the outputs of our X32 mixer and feed it in to a DSLR camera via a wireless connection. What would you suggest we use to achieve this that has as low latency as possible and doesn't require external power? Disntance from mixer to camera is about 10m but we don't want to use a cable. Would something like this work if I plug the tx in to the x32 and on the rx side use a xlr to 3.5mm jack converter in to the camera?
  3. Thanks for the suggestion. We used a place called Glasgow Studio Electronics who repaired the unit but will keep Ampman in mind for future. EMS did respond but said it would be at least a month before they could look at it.

    XLR splitter

We are splitting the output to an amp and an ATEM video encoder. For some reason as soon as we plug in the ATEM audio the level on the amp drops slightly. If we turn the amp up when we disconnect the ATEM the level on the amp is too high.

    XLR splitter

Hi I need a device that will split the one of the xlr outputs of a mixer in to two without affecting the output level. I tried a simple XLR Y splitter cable but this causes the signal output level to drop down and we need to level to stay the same. I have found units like THIS but I'm not sure if this will reduce the output level.
  6. Hi Our S16 seems to be stuck in a loop of contantly powering on/off. It seems like a power related issue. Apart from EMS(awaiting response) are there any other suggestions on who we could try and get this repaired from?
  7. I found this and this caluulator online which gives me a rough idea of zoom. I have used the PTC-140 & PTC-150 before but only the SDI outputs rather than HDMI so I have asked the supplier to confirm if there is any latency on the HDMI output which is what we will be using ont his camera. This is from the manual Focal Length 12x, f=4.4 (wide) to 52.8 (tele) mm F1.8 to F2.6 Field of View (Horizontal, Wide) 71°
  8. Hi I would appreciate some help with this please as beyond my limited video knowledge! With THIS camera that has 12x optical zoom how far away from the subject could the camera be but it would still zoom in and capture the upper body & head of the person speaking?

    XLR socket wall plate

Thanks for all the responses. Good to see all the options.
  10. Hi All We have been using premade XLR wall plates for a while but the quality of the ones we were using is not so good anymore. I was going to order THESE XLR sockets to mount on to THIS wall plate. My quesion is what is the correct size of nut/bolt to mount the socket on to the plate?
  11. Thanks for the ideas. The reclock option on the long cable runs should do the trick.
  12. Hi We are looking at options for distributing video to about 30 screens around our site. The sources that would be distributed would include a HD PTZ camera video feed, powerpoint from a laptop and some other sources. What is key for us is minimal latency especially when viewing the live video from the PTZ camera on the screens as the audio they would hear is from our PA system so it needs to be in sync. What kind of systems are people using and how do you deal with wrong cable runs from the sytem to screen. Our longest cable run could be 150m. One option we are considering would be based on the Blackmagic 40 x 40 videohub but what kind of cable length limitations could we have?
  13. Thanks for all the suggestions 👍
  14. Hi Can you please recommend a headset mic that will work with this https://en-uk.sennheiser.com/camera-wireless-lavalier-microphone-system-set-avx-mke2 Rather than using a the lav mic we want a headset mic that will plu straight in this kit. Loud pop on power off

@Brian yes the sound goes away with no connection and we don't have a DI box. Thanks for the advice all. I have ordered this power sequencer and hoping I can just use the current power switch as a remote switch for it https://www.avsl.com/brands/adastra/product/953.058UK-dp8-power-schedule-controller

    Loud pop on power off

Thanks @Ynot The problem is that the audio equipment is kept in a different area to the hall where the audio usage takes place. They basically plug in mics to the mic points in the hall and switch on from the power switch. Is there any type of 'gadget' that can be used to get around this issue or any other options as practically they have to switch off the equipment in one go from the main power switch in the hall.
  17. Hi We have a Behringer XR18 mixer and a Inter-M DPA900S amp. They are switched on via a switch that provides power to the socket that both these items are connected to. When we turn the main power switch off there is a very loud pop over the speakers. How can we stop this pop happening as apart from this everything works perfectly? What causes this pop as we have the same mixer/amp setup in another location and there you only get a very slight pop when powering off?
