TomHoward
Evening allWe are looking for someone to manufacturer some covers to put over our theatre seat backs. We have 250 seats and they are a poor design - the inner wooden back wears through the top of the seat and tears the fabric. We can get them re-engineered but it's going to cost us thousands and thousands and take them out of action for a while. We are thinking about some kind of seat back stretch-over cover, like a beanie hat but for seats, some kind of thick stretchy-ish material, to cover the damage and provide something replaceable. Does anyone know any companies who might manufacture us such a thing, thinking of clothing manufacturers etc either here or abroad.
kerry davies
Have a ring round the people who provide/make marquee seat covers, look for chair covers and wedding suppliers, they might be able to come up with something suitable.

slipstream
Speak to Mick Mugford at Pledge office chairs, they use a stitched bag type design for new seating manufacture , drawstrings pull it tight, couple of staples and your golden. It would de skill refiltting the fabric. If the backs are waring through its probably a coarse fabric, look at a higher spec Camira fabric with finer threads - not the visible thread type weave (tweed). Temp type covers are a best an expensive stop gap, they won't last any time at all. - source - 4 years working for a large seating manufacturer. Pm me if you want a chat.
