simploerob
We hire a venue and have constant issues with the projector (venues) and Kramer switcher unit (belongs to us) the Kramer hdmi output is faulty (already been repaired once) . Bypassed the switch and went direct to projector The hdmi input on the projector is now playing up... I have used hdmi to cat 5 adaptors before and was considering using vga to cat 5 adaptors to get around the hdmi issues. When I was searching I found vga to hdmi adaptors can I use these on both ends of the hdmi cable to convert it to save running in the cat 5 (old theatre and takes time to run cables in..) or do they only work on one end ? The hdmi is probably 30m long Thanks guys
mac.calder
You would need a VGA to HDMI adapter, and then an HDMI to VGA adapter. The adapters are active, and so will only work in one direction. 30m on HDMI is a bit long - I am hoping it is an active cable of some sort... Joe Fernand
'The hdmi input on the projector is now playing up... ' - what's it doing?Source - what are you using?HDMI over CAT - what have you been using?VGA to HDMI - what are you looking at?30m HDMI - is too long a cable run for HDMI unless you go Active HDMI, Fibre HDMI or more usually the HDMI over CAT route.Joe
