eldar
Hello, can anyone help please, I'm looking for lighting symbols. I need ones that I can use in Miscrosoft Digital Image Pro and Word. I have no way of using CAD symbols with the software that I have at work, all my plans have been designed by me in Digital Image Pro. I have tried a search and the symbols by projos are fantastic and usable. But the problem is that I need older symbols like the strand pat 23 as well as a modern profile. What I really want is a plain -this is a fresnel, a profile or a pat 23 and so on. That I can then change the size according to the watts. Thanks in advance, eldar
damian666
sounds like you have found ones for CAD but obviously they are no use to you. I can probably convert CAD icons into JPG's if that is any help to you.
Bryson
Wasn't there a thread a while ago from some french guy who had made some symbols....? Aha! Here
eldar
Hello again, If you could put some symbols into JPG's that would be soooooooo useful. I'm after a generic symbol for each of these... Fresnel, Profile, Parcan, Followspot, Flood, Pat 23 Profile, and something to indicate a moving head. If you could post them on blue-room then others who are stuck (non-CAD users) like me could also use them. and we'd all love you. Oh and Bryson, thanks for the link, I had found that (see first post) and projos symbols are really good and copy/downloadable. But also a little complex and modern -no pat 23 and I need to show the difference between a source four profile and a strand one. Thanks all eldar

I have PM'd both projos and damian666 -I thought the moderators would object to the personal converse of the replies. I will post anything I can on here once I've got it. eldar
damian666
right, continue! I can sort out a fair stock of generic and general lighting symbols in jpeg format as well as CAD (dwg/dxf) if people want them. I will keep the forum informed. What is the best method of getting these things to people or should I just go with sticking them on my webspace as I sort them out?

gareth
I can't help with JPG (or whatever) symbols, but anyone looking for lighting symbols for CAD packages can download a whole bunch of 'em from here. (This link also appears in the Blue Room's Lighting FAQ ...)
Grahame
It's fairly easy to bash up some basic symbols using the drawing facility in MS Word (the hardest thing is a fresnel lens!). You can just save the lot as a document and cut & paste into your plan as required.I quite often do small rig plans in Word - often it's as quick as doing a full CAD plan, and there is the added benefit that it's a doddle to fax the thing when it's done! :)
eldar
Hello all you helpful people! :) Projos has now added a pat23 to his symbols, look here and they are all pretty fantastic detailed symbols. The effort that is placed into them will make every plan a bit of a masterpiece. Following up on other ones -I have realised that I could do quick drawings and scan them in to my computer, which would have been the quickest, but not nicest looking option. Damian666 can we please have the address of you web space, the more symbols the better. Thanks all for your help eldar :P

damian666
http://www.nuroptics.co.uk/satan/index.htm couple of pages of jpegs, c/w a zip of them all in one hit. they are scaled transfers off of cads. they should all be the correct relative sizes to each other for spacing etc. if people have any others they want included, I am happy to do it when I get a chance. I have got lots of other cads to produce jpegs from. drop me a pm, or I can provide email address if people already have files which they would like to see added. Please note that I accept no responsibility for any accuracies or not!!!!Hope they help.
