Introductory Lighting Course

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

Have just taken one of Mark Payne's excellent introductory courses for sound (see here), I am now looking to attend a similar course on lighting.

This needn't be in depth but should be suitable for a range of situations e.g. outdoor shows, tours etc.

I am based in the South East, so London would be ideal. I've seen the courses offered by Live Systems but as they're based in Edinburgh, it's a bit far to go!

Having also used the search tool, I wasn't really able to turn up anything that was relevant to what I'm after.

Any ideas anyone?

I have done the BTech in lighting and would recommend it although it is 3 days and may be longer than you are looking for.

A little nag though: I am in Shetland and did mine in Bristol which is quite a journey but if I want to do any training I have to be prepared to travel. If you really want to do it, you make it happen. Don't let distance put you off. :mods:

It was the BTech intermediate in lighting (and other stuff). The one I did was at the Bristol Old Vic theatre school. It is run by Loughburgh (?spelling) college. They run them regularly - about 3-4 times a year at different venues around the country.

A quick google or browse on their site should give you the info you need. ;)
