simschr
Does any body which fuses are used on the Strand Tempus 10a/5 dimmer, on the strand archive it says 'Reyrolle or Neozed HRC' I have measured the fuse it is 20mm. Is it a 20mm 5A ceramic fuse that I should use?
JimWebber
Not entirly sure, just 'coz a 5Amp fuse came out, doesn't mean it's the correct value! I have to ram that one home to my trainees constantly. Whatever rating you use, be sure to use an HRC (High Rupture Capacity) fuse. A standard 20mm fuse will not cope with the extremely high fault currents from a blowing bubble. The fuse can explode causing great damage. Andrew C
Any idea what "10a/5" means? Are they 10A dimmers with 5A sockets? I would expect Tempus to be 10A fused, but don't take that as gospel! Especially as I thought they took BS88 Pullcaps like Mini II dimmers... So they are 5A fused, and if you are sure of 20mm, then you will be looking at something like RS Stock no: 420-117. FF5A HBC 5x20mm. Ynot
Can anyone tell me where these fuses can be purchased?Call Stage LX, White Light, or whichever your normal supplier is, tell 'em you have a Tempus dimmer, and can they send you some 10A fuses to suit.easy peasy. Each channel is rated at 10amps = 6 channels2x 5amp outlets on each channelTempus 10A/5 pack (not shown) is similar, but fitted with twin 5A 3-pin shuttered sockets, individually fused, limiting the maximum single tungsten lamp load to 1000W. FF = Fast Fast £0.63p eaNope - the CHANNELS will be individually fused, ie at 10A max, but the sockets (whether 5A, 15A or Schuko) are simply ganged together. Blow the fuse in channel 1, you lose BOTH sockets. The 5A versions were made mainly for the educational market.
Guest Keith@ACK
Hello, I am new to these boards but I have searched and found this forum, was there ever an answer, I would really like to order them from RS as I have an account, can anybody point me in the right direction. maeterlinck
Hi Keith, If you go to http://rswww.com/ and enter the stock code: 420-117, as suggested in a previous post that will bring up the product which you can buy. That appears to be the 5aFF type. If you have 10a dimmers you will need a different fuse. I'll see if the replacement fuses for the tempus dimmers here have RS stock codes on them. Graham Threader
Tempus racks have a Fuseholder for an LC10 (10A) fuse on the right-hand end. If the outlets are 5A then there is a 20mm 5A fuse per outlet in addition on the front panel. Your normal supplier should have both fuses in stock. The LC10s are very expensive. Guest Keith@ACK
It is the LC10 I need, anybody got any ideas, my "normal supplier" don't do them.
