simschr
I was wondering (I know it can be done but I don't know how) how to covert DMX512 to a Strand Tempus. The version that I have got is negative 10V analogue 8pin din/ Bleecon, I was thinking I could get a Demultiplexer that has a 8pin din like a demux 48 and put a negative control card in but this could end up costing more than a new dimmer. Any help would be appreciatedChris

However, as you suspect, with a new Beta Pack costing £350 or whatever the current thread has them at, it may not be worth it. There are 6 chan cards available, and it's not rocket science to knock up an op-amp circuit to convert + to -. Just my 2p worth...
bruce
for reference, a simple circuit to convert -ve to +ve (and vice-versa) can be found HERE. Needs a +15/0/-15 supply, an op-amp, and 3 resistors per channel. I knocked up one on a bit of veroboard using quad op-amps, so 5 chips and 60 resistors gave me a 20 channel unit.... Bruce. dbuckley
The Stagetec (also available under many other names) demux box does -10V which will suit tempus, but obviously isnt internal. On the other hand, its cheap, probably cheaper than finding intenal cards. I found some 8 channel +10V cards I was thinking of buying, but a the boxed 72 channel thing was cheaper than an 8 channel PCB... If you are electronically skilled and time flush then building a DMX512 to analogue converter isnt rrocket science, most of the design is out there, see Kelly Kohls website.
