dfinn
Hi, Ive recently tried my laptop out on our PA system and yes the dreaded ground loop hum was there. Now I presume a ground loop isolator will solve the problem because thats what everyone else does but ive also heard that D.I. boxes do the same thing. We have a few of these http://www.studiospares.com/mac/clasic/pro...id=&ctitle=&p=1 Now because the laptop is stereo I presume I would need to use two D.I. boxes. take a mini jack out from the laptop to a pair of mono jacks which I could plug into the line level input on to of the D.I. boxes. Presumably then I can just take a pair of XLR - jack outs and plug into a stereo channel on my mixer. Now I presume the earth lift switch would have to be up to prevent the ground loop hum. Would this work and am I doing it the right way? Also I will get a proper Ground loop isolator when I can. Thanks, Daniel
