Baldrick
Just to complicate matters, I'm not a resident in England, I'm ex-pat. My problem is that if I want to work for a UK production company, I need a pretty comprehensive insurance package. Getting one arranged where I live would probably cost half my annual income, as the industry is less understood here by insurers, and unfortunately standards of work & safety are lower. On the subject of filling out forms, they want to know if my 'employees' work over 3 metres. As I'm probably going to ask someone to go up the truss in the next year, that's a yes. It then goes on to ask how many people I 'employ' per year:- just thinking of the number of people who push cases, load trucks and hang lights on a short euro tour and a 1 week festival, and it looks like I employ the same number of people as the Royal Mail, only the layout of the form makes it look as though they'll all be climbing. Good God it's raining stagehands!!! Definitely time to call my broker...
