Pre-wired bars

Apologies if this has been done before but the search didn't turn anything up.

What I am looking for is scaff bar pre-wired with 6 or 8 sockets, terminated in a socapex or lectrifex socket. These are to be installed in my church to expand the existing rig. The rigging points can take enough weight to hold the bars and lanterns.

Does anyone know who supplies these?

Thanks, we would have someone install them but it is low budget, we know the SWLs of the rigging points and we know how to fit them.

[edit]

I have just emailed the other technician at church and he suggested wiring them ourselves.

Does anyone have any experience of this? Is it too hard and fiddly or is it possible with patience and determination?

Not too bad to do, but it was so far back I can't remember details. Done in PVC flex within the bars because that was what we had...

Making them yourself is possible, but it's fiddly, time-consuming and a pain in the arse. By the time you've bought the scaff and fittings, cut everything to length, drilled the bars out, pulled the cable, fitted the connectors and terminated everything, it's far easier (and cheaper, too, if you factor your time into the overall cost) to buy them ready-made. Andrew's recommendation of Andolite is worth following up - or AC Lighting, Stage Electrics, or any of the other major suppliers will be able to supply what you need.

IF this is a low budget situation, have you tried speaking to our friends at Used Lighting?

They have some IWB's terminated to soca in the Mains Multicore section on their website.

I have looked there, but I was going to present the leadership with some realistic quotes before breaking out the bargains.

That way they'll say, any cheaper? after hearing the expensive price, and I can present the cheap price. Other way round they'd expect cheaper than the cheapest price.

I have made quite a few but that was many years ago. I would think twicxe before doing it now but wouldn't rule it out. Main reason being parts have gone up in price but IWBs seem to have (effectively) come down. Used to take a couple of hours per bar IIRC

We only need 2 or 3 bars each 3-4m long.

The original spec included these, but they were removed due to budget. Instead where each bar would have connected with the wall they put in a vertical bar. Now having the money we are going to put them in. They just need to bridge the gaps between the verticals.
