Hello to you knowledgeable folk out there who've used DMX a lot longer than me.

I volunteer at a small theatre in Arundel, West Sussex, and we have somewhat limited technical experience of the ETC software within our small technical crew.

With only a small budget, we have acquired some Showtec, QTX, and E-Your-Life units.

While we have sorted drivers for most, the QTX ones are proving a problem.

Can anyone share a fix with us?

What sort of units are they? If they're something simple like an RGB fixture you should be able to use the generic RGB fixture built in to the desk. We've done that with a load of fixtures from LEDJ, Stairville, CPC etc which are all just three channels of 8-bit RGB.

Seems that two of the fixtures (SP-56, SP-SW) are RGB+macro channel where the macro channel is a dimmer up to 190 then a strobe above that. I'm not at a desk ATM so can't look at possible ,matches, but it's quite a common arrangement. Each fixture uses 4 addresses.

The PAR64, if it follows the PAR56 and PAR100 pattern is 7 channels, RGB, dimmer, then 3 effect channels. 5+6 control sound to light, 7 is the strobe mode. Anyone know what that matches?

It may not be that easy, I have SP-64's, some are 4 channel, some are 5 channel and one is 7 channel and to make it more of a pain the 5 channel is: Dimmer, R, G, B, strobe so I cant even use it with the others by offseting the addresses by one.

And of course the 4 channel units don't all follow the same dim/strobe operation as the short nose 4CH Par 64 LED's I have.
