Has anyone had any success putting either temperature monitoring on a pea souper or actual control?

I'd say something that would securely be glue-able to the exterior to either give a temp readout or preferably be a thermostat linkable to the 240 supply ...

Interesting, though that one (and the other 17 options listed on that page) is showing as obsolete 😞

My daughter has a kettle where you can set the required temperature, if you have a reason for it to be less than 100C. There is a pot and an on/off switch with an LCD indicator, which shows the water temperature as it boils

Might be worth investigating Temp Control Kettle

yes, I did it a few years ago. You can still get similar budget temperature controllers though in the same form factor from various manufacturers.

PS I think Bigclive did a review of a chinese version (?)

even the legit stc1000's are only rated for 10A,a bit too close for my comfort, especially when you see the size of the relays used

quick edit ,  the  ATC-800+ seems to do 20A

I recently added these: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/364474456625  to the contactor control line for a 3phase 27KW electric heater battery.

I used the SSR-drive version and added a 50A SSR bolted inside the aluminium enclosure.

Also known as the  W1209 ,comes with the added complication of needing to add a 12v dc supply

Not really a complication though, is it?
