Si impact missing right hand input

Hi all,

I have an input issue that I imagine is a simple fix but I can’t see the wood for the trees, so I’m appealing to the hive mind.

setup: qlab 5 outputting audio cues via usb into the impact’s madi card. Input from Qlab (Mac) assigned to inputs 33/34 on madi card, and appearing on channels 23/24. Channels linked and panned L/R respectively. Both channels registering signal on ACS gain meters. outputting to L/R master as well as some mix buses. Master output meter and amps showing signal from both sides.

problem: I can only see the Left side of the input from Qlab on the main input meter (in the top left of the desk), and only the left side is audible from the speakers. It’s as though Qlab is only sending one half of the signal.

things I’ve tried already:

- verified that all cables and connections throughout the signal chain are correct and functional.
- verified that both Qlab and the Mac’s sound are are set to send stereo signal to the madi usb

- tried Sending Qlab/Mac signal to the analogue inputs 31/32 via a focusrite interface to compare that against the madi route (issue persists)

I’m not too familiar with these desks so I’m sure it’s an error on my part. Where have I gone wrong?

Have you poked around in the Mac's sound control panel to see if there's a L/R control or seperate LR levels that could be set wrong?

As you say Quicktime is also wrong it sounds like it's more likely at operating system level than application. It could of course be a hardware fault if all control panels etc seem correct.

Update: tried running Qlab to an analogue desk and both channels showed up, so it’s a problem with the Si. having spoken with Harman’s tech support, they suspect a hardware fault within the desk, so it’s heading their way for repair.

better get on to the hire companies. It’s not as if we have a fringe festival next week or anything…
