At the risk of asking a daft question...

Is it possible to check the operation of a Mini II channel whilst off the rack.  I just have the single unit on the workbench at home and no rack or control desk.

Having no control desk shouldn't be a problem (a PP3 battery & 2 bits of wire would do the trick), but without the rack you're going to have to sort out how to safely get mains in & out of the unit. Not a job for the non-technical.
