Chris L Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 Hi,My school have 2 racks of 12 install dimmer channels with sockets over the stage. They all look like the photo.Does anyone know what they are called, so I can order some and make up some adaptors to 15A? http://uk.geocities.com/chris.lewins@btinternet.com/Connector.JPG
Luke Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 I've seen these plugs on some old Patt 243's - that doesnt help, but yeah.
Stu Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 Chris, This link from MK Electric should help http://www.mkelectric.co.uk/products/item....78&rangeid=1013. I've heard various names in my time, usually 3 in line. B&Q sell them under the Duraplug brand but it'll definetely be cheaper to try the likes of AC, Stage Electrics etc for them first. I think Terralec might do them too. HTHStu
J Pearce Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 A local hire company has them fitted to their stand lights. IIRC you can buy the connectors in maplins and wilkos. Not sure what they are rated to though.
Mystic Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 The positions of the plug may look like a swiss plug, but the outer shape is a bit different...look : http://www.lemis.com/grog/Photos/20041019/small/swiss-power-plug-1.jpeg
Bryson Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 Yes, Three in line. I have them on my lawnmower, in a lovely orange. The Duraplug ones are worth the extra money.
Chris L Posted July 11, 2005 Author Posted July 11, 2005 Am I totally incompetant, or is it genuinely hard to find these connectors?I've tried all the above sites, all the links from the MK site but with no avail, the only one I have found is http://www.terralec.co.uk/__12_product_inf...10886218B1.html
Stu Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 They aren't that common no, but not so rare that finding them takes the best part of a month. Try calling AC Lighting, SLX, WL etc in the morning and see if they can help. If they don't have it in next day delivery stock I'm sure they'd either be able to order some in or recommend another supplier. Good luck.Stu PS. Don't go for the Terralec ones, who wants nasty white connectors in the air!
Chris L Posted July 11, 2005 Author Posted July 11, 2005 Yeah, they looked a bit terrible, IMHO.Thanks for the help, I'll make a call in the morning. Ta,Chris
paulears Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 MK part number LCP103BLK have a look on their site mk connectors 10 amp
J Pearce Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 JoJo have them product code 400080 RRP £3.77 inc VAT I have always been able to find them in Wilkos and have seen them in maplins before.
Chris L Posted July 11, 2005 Author Posted July 11, 2005 Thanks very much, looking for products on the internet is not really one of my stronger points. Chris
gnomatron Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 you could try e-mailing or calling terralec and asking if they have any in black, or they can get some? At worst, there's always paint...
Chris L Posted July 11, 2005 Author Posted July 11, 2005 Me + paint = disaster.(oh, and a lot of mess :))
gnomatron Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 it's only a connector, you'd just have to get some nice spray-paint, tape off or remove the contacts, and blast it a bit...
