3guk Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 Its amazing what summer does to your head !! In addition to the java apps I am creating I have come up with another idea but im not sure if it would be used. Basically.... Its a fixture database with each fixture that I have come accross and that everyone else can find listed in it !! Then there is amount of channels used by the fixture and possibly what each channel does. I know this is a rather large project but the amount of times I have come accross a fixture and not knownt how many channels it takes up. Good / Bad idea !! Let me know !!
sam.henderson Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 There has already been a topic on this, have a search! I think the general outcome would be it would be a nightmare to maintain. The ML Resource did quite a good job of it but look at it now, some of the newer fixtures aren't there! Anyway, have a search (and good luck!!) Sam

paulears Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 Ross William's site seems very comprehensive - apart from one thing missing in all the database entries. Dimmer - either shutter or brightness type. Sometimes, when loads of light sources are used, the effect can be much better. I have, alongside the cleverer fixtures, 16 moving mirror, club type scaners. The most annoying thing is they don't have dimming capability and blackout is a solid frame in the gobo wheel. So, to blackout, the damn things zap through the gobos, and of course, don't respond to the GM. Hence my disapointment in not finding a dimmer category. His site seems unable to accept emails at the moment.paul
