3guk Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 Guys, Im currently working on a few small applications for phones !! The first being a dip switch calc. You type in the number and it gives you the settings. Im wondering after this one what to try next ? Willing to try anything just a matter of being told and then attempting it !! I would like it to be lighting based but where it stops you decide !!
J Pearce Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 An app that works out what channel and rack a set channel would be on. For example, 6 channels per rack, channel 16 would be: Rack 3 channel 4. It should be easy to in my head but it always takes 2 goes, especially on some of the bigger rigs I work on.
3guk Posted July 8, 2005 Author Posted July 8, 2005 That would be easy to do !! Just a question ?! WOuld you guys want a wap based one or a app based one ?
peternewman Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 App, its free, WAP isn't. Great minds think alike, I was thinking of trying to make some software for my mobile too. Have you finished anything we can have a look at yet? PN
jamienip Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 :D Been thinking about doing something similar myself, a little side project to keep me occupied during the upcoming dark period. I was thinking of making a little prog that gives you gel conversions / equivalents. So for example you type in the Lee number, and it will give you the Rosco / Gam equivalent. And, pushing it a bit, but a rough example of the shade of colour (although obviously would not give an exact representation).
sam.henderson Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 What about CMY values for Lee and Rosco gels?? Sam
J Pearce Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 Definitely an app, WAP is far too expensive on pay as you go! Lens angle calculator perhaps, so enter in throw distance and width of pool at that distance and it gives you the angle, or enter in the angle and throw and it gives you the width of the pool, or enter angle and width of pool and it gives you the optimum throw distance.
jamienip Posted July 9, 2005 Posted July 9, 2005 What about CMY values for Lee and Rosco gels?? Sam<{POST_SNAPBACK}> That was something I was considering, would need the RGB to mix colours, so could maybe work it out, but gets a bit too much then.

Feel free to drop me a note if you have any questions. -jjf
J Pearce Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 Give him a chance to write them! I'm sure he will post links to them as soon as he finishes them, see the DIP switch thread.
3guk Posted July 10, 2005 Author Posted July 10, 2005 Im getting there !! Just trying to learn a whole new language !! Theres a distinct lack of info on J2ME which makes it even more fun

peternewman Posted December 3, 2005 Posted December 3, 2005 3quk has now succeeded in making a dip switch calculator, more info here.
