JohnG Posted July 7, 2005 Posted July 7, 2005 Is there a way to edit existing FX Steps so that you may see what step you are in on screen and watch the changes you are making to that single step on stage? Hope that makes sense. Currently I create the effect, go to live screen, load it, run it for accessment then go back to the Effect screen to make blind edit changes. What I would love to do is step through each effect step one at a time "live' and make adjustments to each. John G
gareth Posted July 7, 2005 Posted July 7, 2005 Never tried it, but perhaps [FX][1][.][1][@]{Full} might work? (With a [RemDim] if you need to see it in isolation.) Then make your changes and use Update to record the mods into the step? Just a thought.
richard Posted July 7, 2005 Posted July 7, 2005 You should be able to run the effect, pause it, and use the 'step'button to step through cues, you can then use update FX 1.x* to update it. However I have a feeling that you will need to re-load the FX to see the changes you ahve recorded as the FX work by loading the entire thing into memory at one time to get the speed to work. But you could investigate! Thanks Richard

This is good info. The only piece of the puzzle left is knowing what step # you are in. No indication on screen or on LCD's. Thanks! John G

trussmonkee Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 just a thought this may not be that practical but it's worth bearing in mind to possibly dump on to a macro button somewhere if you go to advanced setup in the report screen and select console setup you can change the DMX output to preview (top left box on the screen) this will then allow the preview screens ie preview sub group and fx! to be output from the desk and so when editing effects as you normally would that will be what you see on stage. I wouldn't recommend this normally and definitely not during a show but I think it may give the desired effect for editing fx hope this is of some help and like I said if you set it up on a couple of macro buttons to swop between the two modes
