A Studio Beam story

Some of you may recall me posting several weeks back about a High End Studio Beam that ran fine but mysteriously would not lamp off. Finally, after switching out every conceivable part, upgrading the software, and contemplating the idea of throwing the whole thing in the Hudson River, I noticed that the connections on the filter board (where the main AC power enters and splits) didn't match those on my other, working units. It seems that whoever worked on these before me (they were purchased used) hooked the whole mess up backward, so that the main AC input, lamp power, and motor power connnections were all mixed up. It just so happened that the fixture still worked fine that way, except for not lamping off. Let this be a lesson, to myself and others, that sometimes the most obvious solutions are not so obvious.
