shtark-air Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 hi. I am bielding a light system for a huge space in israel (300 spots) and I would like to know if any one use PR-LIGHTING (china) spots/scanner. I never work with spots, form this company. is any one work with those spots before??? and can tell me if they are good? www.pr-lighting.com thanks.
david.elsbury Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 Check this thread regarding small movers. Do a search (top right of every page on the Blue Room) for something like "Pearl River" and see what pops up.They seem fine to me, as a cheaper alternative to the Martin Mac250 etc.David
shtark-air Posted July 5, 2005 Author Posted July 5, 2005 are you sure that this is the same company????? pr-lighting and perl river ??
david.elsbury Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 Absoutely. Same products, same names. It's the same company. I'd suggest contacting your nearest dealer (dealers link) for more info.
shtark-air Posted July 5, 2005 Author Posted July 5, 2005 did you used the p.r (china) spots ??? solo 250solo 575pilot wash 575pilot spot 1200pilot wash 1200 ?????????????????
david.elsbury Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 Not personally, but there are plenty of others that have, as I said, do a search for Pearl River, or wait for some of the others to come and give their opinions. David
Bad_Rock Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 You are looking to rent or buy them? If you need to rent them because of budget then go ahead they are just regular. But if you are going to buy them I think would be great to spend a bit more in something a lot better. Robe, Futurelight, GLP are very superior to me. Thanks
shtark-air Posted July 5, 2005 Author Posted July 5, 2005 I am going to buy them. I saw the spot its look "good" - for the space that I need. but I dont know if they are reliable. I don't want to have problems in few month. shtark-air.
Bad_Rock Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 If you rent them you don't have to worry if some of the fixtures dies. The owner should come and replace them. If you looking to buy them there is a completely different story. You will be the one taking care of the dead heads. As I said before if you looking to buy check some other fixtures that worth a bit more but are a lot more trusty. Regards
paulears Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 If you buy them, you also get a guarantee. For what it's worth, I've used them and they are fine. value for money wise, no problems, and if you make sure you spec a few more than you need, then swapping them out isn't a snag. I had some hung up against mac250's and some movitec 250's. All behaved pretty well the same.
shtark-air Posted July 5, 2005 Author Posted July 5, 2005 friends. I am buying them. so...I need to know if someone used them for a long time and he can say to me: "I worked with those spots for____ month they are _____. I don't want to have problems. they are new in israel and they are cheep, I will not buy them if they are not reliable, I don't care about other parameters (color, gobo, optic) I saw them and the are doing the job that I need for this project.
Chris_R Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 We used some Pearl River Pilot's on shows and for the price their great! The one problem we had was when we had some Pilot 150's on a show recently and on one of them the colour wheel was a bit dodgy, i.e. would go too far so you would get half one colour and half another. But this could be worked around. We didn't diagnose the problem fully so could have been cabling, controller etc so its a bit unfair to say it was definantly the light. Hope this helps.
paulears Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 if two and a half years is 'a long time' then ok - they are still working the same as they were when new.http://www.limelight.org.uk/pr300.jpg I found this picture - Pilot 300's with twin gobo wheels. The yellow and red flower like gobos are the PR's, the circles MAC250's if that helpspaul
Bad_Rock Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 Just for curiosity how much do they cost in Israel ? ( in american dollars pls). Thanks
