replacing two-gang (concentric) pots on Midas Venice F

Hi folks,

I have a Midas Venice F-24 with two dodgy pots of the dual concentric kind. Actually one has a bent shaft and the other has a failed track or something (scratchy intermittent noisy). I think there are some other problems such as intermittent signal on Mon1. I believe the official answer is 'Musictribe' but to be honest I find them something reminiscent of the classic film Brazil (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088846/) in which all information is freely available  (just one exception), as long as you know the right channels to go through (and that is the exception): in short inaccessible. Further, since I am in the back of beyond, Northern Ireland, I don't expect too much without forking out unacceptable sums for couriers etc.. So, I am wondering if anyone here can advise me on obtaining the required bits to have a go at it myself? The only source I found for the correct concentric ganged pots sells them in minimum quantity of 1000.

Any ideas?

(Please don't say it's time to throw away tempramental analogue desks and buy a digital: like an old soldier it keeps going despite several injuries!)

Thanks.

I've had good service with Behringer parts from https://www.electronicmusicservices.co.uk before, and they're listed as a Service Centre on the Midas website:

https://www.midasconsoles.com/buy.html?type=POS

They may be able to advise on supply of parts.. there's one in Ireland as well listed as a service centre http://www.fixtronix.ie/ but I've not used them compared to EMS and also no idea if UK or Ireland is easier for you.

No comment on the analogue desk BUT if you have still got the multitrack firewire working that is impressive - we had an F32 which was great but it was keeping the firewire interface working on a modern Mac that saw it off for us. It went off to a PC based studio.

Thanks very much, Tom. I will give the bunch in Ireland a call (I can take it to them in the car without too much difficulty). I notice they also sell some components, which could be handy. As for the firewire, yes, very fragile it is, but has been treated like a live bomb-fuse from the beginning and still works. It is plugged into a dedicated Mac on OS10.6 (!!). On another recent thread, someone was saying they ran one in a school (I would not expect that to work for too long, but apparently it did). Personally I have an affinity for the old stuff (and a small budget).
