deranged-angel Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 Hi Guys Ok, here is my problem:I have a sound board that has 4 mic channels and 4 stereo inputs. However, I need 5 mics. Is there a way to either link 2 sound desks together so I can use the mic inputs on those or somehow convert the XLR to jack? Also, has anyone every used a Fender passport before? I've been asked to set one up on Sunday but never used one. Anything weird about it I should know? managed to get hold of the manual but has anyone had personal experiences which might help my day go more smoothly? Also, this is going to have a guitar on it so would I still need a DI box or is it specially designed not to need one?? The manual says you can plug it straight in to the system, is this right? As always, thanks!! Emxxx

Also, has anyone every used a Fender passport before? <snip><{POST_SNAPBACK}>Sorry, can't help on that one. David
paulears Posted July 1, 2005 Posted July 1, 2005 use one of the stereo in channels to add the output of another mixer. Fender passport series - the line input has enough gain for something like an acostic guitar with an internal preamp/eq section. Sound wise, it'll work. In all fairness, the advantages of using a proper DI may be lost with these compact, do-it-all type systems. They work, that's about it.
