rockinrob Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 johnny roadhouse music shop do installs for some of the city's bars clubs - and do an excellent job too - I think they are the best locally from what ive seen and heard of their work, although buying anything from their shop can be a right pain in the arse when it comes to sales assistants. there is also fern audio - this is the guy who claims to have created 3d soundsystems for clubs - in other words dolby surround hes done a lot of places like music box and that big gay club in the village there is also unique systems based in stockport - which is where I cut my teeth, they do mostly pubs/ bars - that are owned by large breweries so they always have plenty of work all over the north of england- and are a good bunch of lads - dave south who is cheif engineer is probably the best ive ever seen everything he does is immacculate. you wont get the glamour of doing places like the paradise garage - but its still a good job theres also concert systems in altringham who are very big - they do mostly live sound
gnomatron Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 what's the point in a dolby surround system for a club? Most stuff on cd/vinyl is stereo, and I don't reckon anyone doing live sound would want to faff about with a 5.1 mix...
rockinrob Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 he claimed to have created 3d sound system technology but in reality he was just using dolby only through big speakers instead of your typical home setup
zonino Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 concert systems have my cv - not had anything back from them yet though ;)
Furryface Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 If you are after install companies in Manchester you should talk to the following KelcoPrecision AudioAVionics As for rental companies who do installs (or may just have jobs) then try Concert SystemsWigwam (not club installs but churches and theatre type stuff)AudileSTS TouringMAC Sound And probably about a million others but its too early to push my brain too hard. Anyway hope this helps Furry ;)
