david.elsbury Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 Hi thereJust a quick question- what are your truss baseplates made off? Aluminium, steel, wood? And if I may, can I grab some approximate sizes? Thanks :)RegardsDavid
JonHirsh Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 Depends Steel heavier = Much smaller foot print usual 1 or 2' squared Alumininum MEdium = slightly larger not general worth the money Wood Extremely Light = its great for a party but they are huge to balance the truss I once had to bolt together 4 Steel truss plates to courter weight the truss which was 20' High I would say Steel is the best choice for any situation. but hey to each there own
timmath Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 All our XO (foot square) base plates are ali - we have 350mm2 for things with more than 2 legs which need to have small feet500mm for ground supported structures that are heavyand 1m2 for lone towers and goal posts which are good for upto 4m with some stage weights on. A Type, we have custom made 'x' plates about 1.3m from ali which are good for towers of 5m, higher if you got a motor above it to get it to the height you want regards tim
