Actuate relay

I've made this a 'sound' query since we would be using SCS for music and FX.

I want to actuate a remote relay. Can I use Level change to produce, say,a 5volt signal, which with suitable external circuit will actuate a relay.

Do you have a spare channel on which you can record a continuous tone?

It will be easy to make this operate a relay - and synchronise the on/off switching of the relay accurately at the appropriate place in the music.

It would be possible to make a music track level change operate the relay - but rather more complicated and not as reliable as using a tone.

I can let you have a tone detection circuit schematic - if required?

Various companies make relays that can be controlled using MIDI. Depending on what you’re controlling you may need to use that relay output to control a bigger/better isolated relay or SSR.

This may prove simpler than trying to use audio.
