Ben P Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 Dear All, I know that I should know how to do this - but can someone tell me how to create a new fixture? I have as show where I am using two Coemar Prospot LX 250's and cant find a 500 series fixture profile for it anywhere. If anyone does have such a fixture on there fixture lists please PM me ASAP Cheers Ben
paulears Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 you'll probably have to write one. As it is a coemar, simplest thing is to search for another unit that is there and edit it. sometimes futurelights have similar specs, but some attributes will be swapped around. pan might be tilt, that sort of thing. then you just copy the edited fixture list into an unused one. Sounds quite complex, but probably what you'll end up doing.
gareth Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 Paul's dead right, if it's not already in fixture.lib it's quickest to create your own, following the pattern of fixtures which already exist to give you a clue as to how the fixture definition should be set out. Access fixture.lib either through the Notes display (use the Load Files softkey) or by dropping out into DOS, navigating to the c:\220os directory and loading it into the DOS text editor. I prefer the latter of the two methods for ease of editting ... YMMV. My usual advice holds good in this situation - while you're fiddling around in fixture.lib, take some time to have a shufty at atcpage.lib as well. A little bit of rearrangement of the attribute pages to suit the fixtures you're using can make a heck of a difference to ease of programming.
