fish Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 ok we bring these in from china. build quality is good and the price is very competitive. the features are fairly standard, what you'd expect from a 14 channel unit. 2 gobo wheels, prism, dimming, dmk focus etc. reliable and very easy to service.if anyone wants a demo I can arrange it. www.evl-lighting.com
Bad_Rock Posted June 23, 2005 Author Posted June 23, 2005 Hey it's exactly the same! Are this the OEM? Or is just another one buying them from asia?
paulears Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 washlight versions seem quite neat, with good spec. the profiles are a little awkward in the atributes setting, for the dimmer channel (11) relies on setting the shutter channel (10) at between 32-63. Some controllers may find this difficult to manage. I use a macro to 'reset' these type of things - but are always a bit difficult to work out without the manual. That said, they aren't as cheap as I thought? You can get pearl rivers for less, and they have that nice rubber feel. the pilot 300 with dual gobo wheels is less than £500 from one dealer. Had some of those and thought they were great.
timmiddleton Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 You can get pearl rivers for less, and they have that nice rubber feel.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> anyone got a link for these? couldnt find anything on google
Bad_Rock Posted June 23, 2005 Author Posted June 23, 2005 Thanks for your help guys but I think we still don't know the real OEM of those fixtures. Any clue?

Bad_Rock Posted June 23, 2005 Author Posted June 23, 2005 Mhhh pretty close but it is not. I just went to their web page and checked them in detail. The truth is that there is so many manufacturers of moving heads in china now a days that its getting hard to tell who is who. Thanks any way Paul.
fish Posted June 24, 2005 Posted June 24, 2005 the original manufacturers are terbly terbly.com made clickable - paulears
Bryson Posted June 24, 2005 Posted June 24, 2005 Who is the original OEM ? Can I just point out that the title of this thread is suffering from Redundant Acronym Syndrome (RAS Syndrome)? Thanks
Bad_Rock Posted June 24, 2005 Author Posted June 24, 2005 Ok I got it now. Those are no doubt the OEM. Sorry for the RAS Syndrome
Tom Baldwin Posted June 24, 2005 Posted June 24, 2005 Who is the original OEM ? Can I just point out that the title of this thread is suffering from Redundant Acronym Syndrome (RAS Syndrome)? Thanks<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Although in a deliciously ironic twist, so is that observation...
ChrisD Posted June 24, 2005 Posted June 24, 2005 Maby someone should have PAT Tested the Original OEM fixtures and corrected any RAS Syndrome threads.
J Pearce Posted June 25, 2005 Posted June 25, 2005 [pedant]Surely RA syndrome or just RAS. RedundantAcronymSyndrome Sydrome?? [pedant]
