Hello

Need to buy in ear wired monitors, just wondering if anyone has any views. Would love Garwood - but to expensive. Approx £100ish......help please............

Not my field, but if I were sticking something loud enough to keep a musician happy in someone's ear, I might be inclined to look to a 'reputable' rather than 'cheap' manufacturer.

Just a thought...

I have used upmarket cd player earphones as in-ears in the past, but always with a limiter to protect my ears, and a small desk next to me running as a headphone amp and level control.

Garwood also makes ear moulds for about £90. With these moulds you can use hi end walkman type ear phones.

This is what I use and I was told by the guys at Garwood that this solution is just as good as the £500 solution of high end wired ear pieces.

Please look at www.inears.com, there you can find custom made in ears, but they also sell universal inears.

In our band we use the UM1 for backup, they really sound great.

We use a BEHRINGER powerplay headphone amplifier.

a good system - with decent amps and etc - would be a p4hw - or p2hw coupled with e2 / e1's (depending on ur preference) from shure., set you back around 300 pp

Please also look at the client list of this firm.

The WESTSTONE UM1 will cost about 130 euro (excl vat) so I think they will be in range of your budget and perhaps the client list will give you some idea of their proven quality.
