dentos Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 I've got me a second hand SKB rack case, trouble is it only came with 4 bolts. I've managed to buy a bunch of 2BA bolts locally, but they're not posidrive or black, and I don't have any washers for them. Anyone know where I can get the SKB type bolts? Cheers
J Pearce Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 the places that sell the racks usually sell the bolts as well, in packs of 10 and 20.Try studiospares and the like.
david.elsbury Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 Or you can tap out the holes for a 'normal' rack bolt size.Grr SKB.......
Mr.Si Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 B&Q ? Bunces? local hardware / nut and bolt store? compare your other ones with the ones in the shop
dentos Posted June 16, 2005 Author Posted June 16, 2005 I'll try those out thanks, it does seem a bit of shame SKB haven't thought out their cases 100%, non-standard bolt sizes and the catches seem to go loose after a while, a great idea but could be better implemented, ah well!

Or any standard for that matter!

I have had a number of pieces of equipment that either had holes too small or were in fact tapped for M5. James
Lamplighter Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 M5 is commonly used for 1U equipment to stop the washer trapping the adjecent unit. Brian
Mr.Si Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 SKB and plastic moulded racks use a metric fine, not a metric standard or metric coarse. Si
