Bryson
Hello all, I wondered if anyone out there used Community speakers, in particular the STS26's? My new venue has two STS26s and some subs to go with them - audience of 250 only, but it's a big room - lots of stage area. Opinions please! Bear in mind I'm a lampie at heart.... Simon Lewis
Bear in mind I'm a lampie at heart....<{POST_SNAPBACK}> So I'll say this veeery slooowly ;-) Seriously though....I haven't used this Community box, but a) the company's products are held in quite high regard and b) the spec sheet indicates that you have quite a serious loudspeaker. It's a nominal 300W unit that can generate 117dB SPL. Sensitivity is relatively low (92dB) and it needs a fairly serious amplifier (600W - 900W @ 8 Ohm). On axis frequency response is quite smooth, albeit a little rough in the crossover region (2kHz) and above. Directivity is fairly broad, but that's to be expected. It looks like Community have designed it to compete in the small but high quality AV / Theatre / HOW market (d&b E3s spring to mind). Combined with the subs it should provide a good full range sound, but isn't going to take a full rock'n'roll band. How does it sound to you?? Bryson
Thanks for that - especially the comparison market part - that I understand, even with my limited lampie brain... I dunno what they sound like as they haven't come yet....I didn't get to spec the system, and had never come across Community gear before. The building doesn't even open until October! Many thanks again Bryson
