Sennheiser EW300 microphones

Hi All, I sure that someone can tell me what I need to know.

I have 2 Sennheiser EW300 radio mics on GB band both have had their capsules stolen/lost.

I have 1 Sennheiser EW100 with 835 capsule, if I fit this to the EW300 it reports that its an incompatable capsule and

wont unmute. Can anbody tell me if there is a way to get the to work on EW300 as the are the same capsule but with an add somthing.

Which generation are your mics? G1 & G2 capsules will be interchangeable, but I wouldn't know about G3 & G4.

Have a look p.17 of the G3 owner's manual https://assets.sennh...0109_US_INT.pdf

which says that the transmitter will mute when changing heads & unmute when the new head is screwed in, so you may have a dirty contact.

 

The other reason for muting is Pilot Tone on at one end but not the other, but that shouldn't give an "incompatible capsule" message. If your EW100 is really a G3 has someone used an "old" 835 capsule & shorted the muting contacts to make it work?
