garytrav Posted May 14, 2019 Posted May 14, 2019 The Traverse Theatre is currently looking to appoint a Festival Stage Crew Chief from Monday 15 July 2019 for the duration of the Fringe Festival period. The crew will be made up of a team of 9 people who will report to the Crew Chief and ultimately the Head of Stage. The Festival Stage Crew Chief is responsible for allocation of crew during fit ups and turnarounds, making sure crew get appropriate breaks, keeping records of turnaround duties and deputising for the Head of Stage in their absence. Along with the crew they are responsible for the get-ins, fit-ups, turnarounds and get-outs of all productions and events at the Traverse Theatre. As a team, the crew will be responsible for the smooth turnarounds of all scenic aspects of the productions in both theatres (Traverse 1 and Traverse 2) and events in the rest of the building including, but not limited to, anything from dance floors, flats, flown scenery and revolves to stage decks, furniture and props. This is a very physical role with a fair amount of lifting and carrying. A working knowledge of theatre, especially the stage department is essential as it the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines. Please note: these are non-technical roles and are within the Stage department of the Theatre. The working week will be 48 hours with one day off per week. the wage is £432 per week and any additional hours will be paid at single time. The role will run from Monday 15 July to Sunday 25 August 2019. This role is not suitable for anyone with other festival commitments.
