The position Lightning is seeking a warehouse manager to join our talented team to ensure smooth running of our warehouse in order that all equipment is prepared, returned & maintained to the high standards required for our events. Lightning offers a complete production service to its clients and so requires its warehouse team to be "all-rounders" with technical knowledge of professional lighting, audio and power distribution systems, some basic carpentry and set preparation skills and a willingness to perform a variety of duties as circumstances require. This is a unique opportunity to lead a small, successful and rapidly growing team. The position is full time Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm at our Park Royal warehouse. The show must go on and so the ability to be available for paid overtime including evening and weekend work is essential. There will also be occasional site work as well as van driving. A full UK driving license is also essential. Primary responsibilities Reporting to the Operations Director Manage all incoming and outgoing equipment-- Ensure all equipment leaving and returning to the warehouse is correct and recorded on the stock management system-- Managing equipment shortfalls and checking cross hires in and out of the warehouse-- Liaising with production managers for any equipment queriesDirect warehouse operations and manage warehouse staff, both permanent and casual-- Ensuring the warehouse is adequately staffed during busy periods to ensure smooth operation-- Ensuring trucks/vans are loaded/unloaded in a timely manner and equipment leaving and entering the building is prioritised-- Ensuring the Warehouse and work areas are kept in a clean and tidy manner at all times-- Managing consumable stocks-- Implementation of systems and procedures to improve smooth operation of warehouseService, maintain and repair equipment-- Ensure all equipment is in good order ready for despatch-- Ensure proper recording and quarantine of damaged equipment-- Fault finding and basic servicing and repair of equipment-- Managing external repairsDriving and site work-- Although mainly a warehouse role, candidates will occasionally be required to work on site with production mangers and freelance technicians and undertake driving dutiesEssential Skills & Experience: Demonstrated experience in a similar role-- You will have experience in man-management of a small team and of working in an equipment hire environment particularly relevant to events-- You will already have a good knowledge of how an efficient warehouse should be run.
