knightdan65 Posted November 23, 2018 Posted November 23, 2018 Hi, Got a scene where someone is strangled with a garrotte and they’re after a small amount of blood (50 - 100ml) to appear from the neck. I’ve seen fake blood powder that activates when in contact with liquid, but I understand it permanently stains fabric. Anyone know of a suitable alternative that will wash out? Thanks
Owain Posted November 23, 2018 Posted November 23, 2018 red washing-up liquid fed through a tube from a bottle squeezed by the garrottee?
ImagineerTom Posted November 24, 2018 Posted November 24, 2018 for small quantity jobs like this as Owain says - Red washing up liquid or Ice Cream Syrup are both the common solution. Both still need to be washed out after performance but won't stain instantly like virtually all blood products will
Tregilibob Posted November 24, 2018 Posted November 24, 2018 Stain devils red wine gets red food colouring out well, especially if the food colouring is mixed with red washing up liquid.
adam2 Posted November 27, 2018 Posted November 27, 2018 Be careful if significant amounts of washing up liquid gets on clothing that is later washed. It can break the washing machine. The agitation forms a great volume of foam or froth, this is apt to escape from the drum via the top opening whereby the water and fabric conditioner are intended to be admitted. Since this foam is electrically conductive it may cause short circuits. If in doubt, remove most of the washing up liquid by rinsing under running water, before machine washing. Foam concentrate used for firefighting and for making fake snow has the same effect.
