lonemorf Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 Hi all, In this vid, this is very very well put together, and the quality of the projection/mapping is totally on point. Any idea what the tech is here? What software/hardware combo?Im not wanting to do this, just purely curious about how this looks *that* good. Thoughts?
Shez Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 Pangolin Beyond is pretty popular for control of this kind of system. Kvant lasers are also very common.
musht Posted October 5, 2018 Posted October 5, 2018 Agree, nicely done. The originators are on the book of face https://www.facebook.com/JD3.Lasers
JD3 Posted October 5, 2018 Posted October 5, 2018 Thanks for the kind words everyone. The software we used to program the show and control the lasers was Pangolin Beyond. The laser projector we used was a 5.3 watt full color unit with 60kpps scanners made by Able Laser Technologies.
lonemorf Posted October 5, 2018 Author Posted October 5, 2018 Would be great to hear more about your methodologies, JD3. Im guessing you didnt sit outside and map that "live"?
JD3 Posted October 6, 2018 Posted October 6, 2018 Well the image it self was made offsite using a photograph we had taken pior. The mapping and geometric correction of the statue had to be done on site since it’s very hard to guesstimate that kind of thing. Especially when each of the letters on that statue face a slightly different direction.
