Sanyo XP200 shutter problems

So I have a XP200 on stock - still a great piece of kit even if it is a little old.

 

I had an issue today (happened previously about 12 months ago) where there was a strange “wiping” effect on the screen after opening the shutter.

I had closed the shutter to change some of the screen content and when I re-opened I was greated with an almost black screen and a wiping effect coming from the top of the screen to the bottom.

This happened about 12 months ago but since then has had an LCD panel replaced and a full service carried out (about 6 months ago)

 

It only appears to do it when the projector is TRUSS mounted, so inverted.

Power off and on doesn’t reset but a full powere cycle, including disconnecting mains) does fix the problem.

 

I mentioned it to one of our cam guys and he said that on his DSLR kit they have a self clean cycle for the lens but I cannot find anything to back this up with an XP200

 

 

Has anybody else had this problem? If so any clues as to the cause and a permanent fix??
