sandall Posted September 20, 2018 Posted September 20, 2018 Probably right about it being Belgian. 1950s-vintage audio test-set of some sort, with 25Hz - 15kHz oscillator, & 4 inputs on XLR. Can't work out what the 4 big knobs along the bottom do though.
p.k.roberts Posted September 21, 2018 Posted September 21, 2018 I wondering if it was perhaps some sort of early OB mixer, with the oscillator section intended to test the line back to base prior to TX?
Seano Posted September 21, 2018 Posted September 21, 2018 Can't work out what the 4 big knobs along the bottom do though. They're the channel faders aren't they? I'm guessing the 'screwdriver' pots above them are input gain.
Brian Posted September 21, 2018 Posted September 21, 2018 My money is on a four channel mixer. Consider... 4 XLRs on the back of the right gender to be inputs4 big knobs on the front for volume with a line joining them to another as the masterBuilt-in line-up oscillatorInputs 3 and 4 also appear to have (stereo?) line input jacksA 5th input jackDual outputs, I and II
sandall Posted September 21, 2018 Posted September 21, 2018 My money is on a four channel mixer.I got distracted by the oscillator :(, which is a bit OTT for just sending tone to ID the line. Presumably a combined mixer & line-tester, so as p.k.roberts suggests, for OB use rather than recording.
