Mac based mixing console - Dante I/o

Looking at a new console at the minute. One limiting factor has been channel count - it has 48 and I can do with a few more. 64 ideally.

It does however have a 32x32 usb interface plus the option of a Dante card. Inputs from the stagebox system look to be patchable to outputs without touching the desk processing channels, hence leaving its’ own 48 channels free.

I’m contemplating creating some submixes on my Mac from inputs patched to these computer outputs and then returning them in to a few of the desk channels.

I’m not mixing iem and the desk’s own latency is already very low, so I’m hoping latency won’t be a huge problem. Desk runs at 96k.

Pre amp control on the stageboxes is still to be worked out. If it’s like my current Roland desk then pre amps are controllable in the desk patchbay without them needing to be assigned to a channel. Hoping it’s the same but waiting for confirmation.

Can anyone see any glaring problems, or suggest any suitable software for the Mac? Needs to be Mac or else I’d look at SAC. I have logic X and this would do but would prefer something more geared to be a mixer.
