RedDog
I have recently taken delivery of three Thomann MA120 MKII stage monitors, which appear to be very good indeed. However there is a behaviour that I find weird and wonder if it's just me!When I connect two together, line out 1 > line in 2, I have to set the volume level higher on the second than the first to make the outputs equal.Normal or not?Thanks.R. MarkPAman
By the looks of it, the line out is no just a simple link, but is after the mixer part, which can mix Line In & Mic In & possibly after the eq control too? A simple passive splitter cable/box would allow control of eq & levels independently for each speaker - and should make getting them identical easier. p.k.roberts
I've not used the speaker you specified, but have come across this on generic 'plastic boxes on sticks'. These were my solution ...... https://cpc.farnell.com/pulse/pls00287/xlr-adaptor-lead-sk-to-2x-plugs/dp/AV17586?st=xlr%20f%20to%202%20xlr%20m
ojc123
I've a couple of Behringer Eurolive B205D which do the same. I use the splitter to avoid the issue.
bruce
I guess the theory would be that the line out is after the gain/mixer/EQ stage, so only the first unit in the chain needs “tweaking” and you leave any subsequent units at unity gain. Or something like that.
RedDog
Thanks for your input folks. So, it's seems to be quite normal. That's ok then, I'll go the splitter route next time.
