Automat!c
Good evening , Well our school is having loads of fixtures breaking , I.e the units not zooming, then the head not moving we have sent them off to get repaired and and now there another two not zooming again ? We operate a Jands vista light system .could it be a simple patch problem or something with the unit again , the tech guys at Chauvet says its the motors that operate failing , but not after been repaired Pus thewhole system has got Pharos plumbed into the system . any surgestions would be grate full so see if its me doing something wrong ! niclights
If you can safely access the fixtures I would try disconnecting the DMX and see if the zoom is working on local control/during reset/after power cycle etc.
paulears
I tend to just fallback to the fact that moving lights are complex bit of kit and use components that are inherently unreliable in certain circumstances. They get hot, they live in dusty environments and often haze is involved. Looking at the fan vents oil most movers reveals a real yucky mess after even limited use. I'm amazed any (at any price) get through their warranty period. Very often their use is spasmodic. No mov event at all for extended periods, then heavy use, then gaps again - and this allows things to get gummed up. Just a hazard of typical use I suppose.
