cosmicink
Hello, I have a Beam 2R from elation that has been having lamp issues. The lamp fades out after 10 minutes of fixture usage then fades back in after being off for about 3-5 minutes(haven't exactly timed it). This keeps happening when the fixture is operating. The lamp has 412 hours of usage and is rated for 3000 hours. Any assistance in resolving this issue would be much appreciated. Thank you.
niclights
Sounds like a thermal cut-out. Check the fans are running in the head and that they are not blocked.
cosmicink
Tested fixture with enclosure removed, verified that both fans are operational. Cleaned the fixture thoroughly today. No change in behavior. My first guess was thermal cut-out as well, thus testing it with the enclosure (entire) removed and verify that both fans are turning on. I am getting NO error codes either which is quite perplexing.Sounds like a thermal cut-out. Check the fans are running in the head and that they are not blocked. niclights
Have you tried a different lamp?
cosmicink
Have you tried a different lamp? I have not tried a different lamp, but I doubt it has anything to do with the lamp. I do have a working fixture and I'll just swap the lamps and see if that rectifies the error. Will keep you posted. Thanks for your assistance! DrV
Could be a duff thermal cutout - don't know the fixture myself but if it has a bimetallic disc cutout (like many fixtures do) it is worth swapping that with the one from your workshop fixture. Also be aware that poor connections to a thermal cutout will heat it up higher than it should be.

Also be aware that poor connections to a thermal cutout will heat it up higher than it should be. It was a bad ballast. Swapped it out with a ballast from a working beam and it fixed the issue. Thanks for your time and assistance looking into this.
