shade4
I have several Studio Beams and Studio Colors with cracked color mixing wheels. Can anyone recommend a glue/adhesive/cement suitable to repair them? A frequent search result is high temp silicone for oven glass but it seems too flexible for repairing the filters. The wheels are quite expensive to replace compared to other spares so a slight visual glitch from the wheels would be ok versus the replacement cost. Cheers, Scott. timsabre
High temp silicone is what they manufacture them with - a very very small amount. I've spent some time in a factory which assembles colour wheels and they used a toothpick to apply a small bead of the stuff round the edges. musht
for preference neutral curing silicone, acetic curing smells of vinegar and may etch some coating off the glass.
