brenf
Hi folks. Thinking of purchasing some adj focus spot 2 spots to use in school shows, panto and some musicals. Has anybody used them in that capacity, I know that they are a dj light, and how did they work out. I have used the phantom 50 leds before and they did a fair job taking into account their limitations.I'm considering the adj over the phantom because of its prism and motorised focus which wiuld be of use in defusing breakups for water effects etc.I understand their cheap and cheerfull and not going to have any of the bells and whistles we would normally have in theatre. Graham NZ
Hi The Phantom 65 does have a prism. If you can find a little more money the new Phantom 130 has motorised zoom and focus and two prisms. I think both of the units you are looking at can't really be seen as DJ only items anymore. They are used in all kinds of venues. Certainly where I live the Phantoms are very prevalent in school theatres some of which are used daily. CheersGraham
LXbydesign
The phantom 50 has prism as well. and rot gobos. I think they're a great little fixture for the price.
ninjadingle
I've used Phantom 75's for theatre in the past. Rubbish dimming curve at the lower end but perfectly useable. Motorised zoom is going to be a big help if you can spend the extra cash.
