vizion
Hi I recently bought some JTS cm204 headset microphones. I tried to use them with the sennheiser G2 and G3 wireless systems but the output from microphone to the transmitter seems to high. I Tried to lower the sensitivity in the transmitter but the sound become unnatural and somehow distorted.I would appreciate if anyone have some sugesttion about it. Thanks! Stuart91
All radio mic systems use some kind of companding circuit (compressing the audio waveform for easier transmission, then expanding it in the receiver). Different manufacturers use different standards, so it's a fair bet that JTS and Sennheiser don't match.
pete10uk
I took the op to mean headset microphone only, not a transmitter as well just using a headset on standard sennheiser g2 and G3 tx /rx kit.
Stuart91
Good point, Pete - I should have googled the model number before jumping in. I wonder if the Sennheiser packs provide phantom power in a different manner to JTS? Or possibly some sort of impedance mismatch?
MarkBarl
From my recollection, there is another major brand that uses 3.5mm jack for the connection and I think it is Trantec. If I recall correctly, they wire their mics differently than for Sennheiser and they are not compatible with both. Perhaps see if you can find the pin out for both and see if there is a difference. vizion
thanks a lot for your inputs guys ...maybe there is an impedance mismatch I will try to ask JTS about their output impedance on the cm 204 and then try to ad a resistor to match the difference
Bazz339
It might be pin connection mismatch on the 3.5mm jack
