T-Bars have come a long way

It's a bit 'Disco', but whenever my band play an event where there is no lighting available - some hotels, function rooms, converted spaces, I've been using some of my LED bars on stands but it's a real faff and takes a while to set up and cable - then I rarely get a chance to much more than pick a colour and leave it - so I wondered if any of the new LED T-Bar stuff would be useful - and a found there are now quite a few available -so I bought a pair of 4 x 30W COB RGBW ones, that come with a floor wireless remote. They're not quite what I expected, but as they come in 4 zip up bags, and just need plugging in to the mains, they're a winner for us.

I didn't say too much about it in the video, but the beam edges are pretty nasty - a big circular ring to each beam, so I might soften them up a bit. Not sure yet. So far, they seem to actually work quite well!

I have something similar from ADJ, though their wireless control is a hand held remote, with 12 buttons, so there are a few more options available. No strobes, and with just RGB chips. Nice and simple to set up in their 12 channel mode as 4 separate fixtures. They also have a wired 4 button foot controller, which like yours just allows you to step through preset programs.

I don't use the remote often, but occasionally it's useful, and like you, I found the sync problem to be annoying at times. My solution to this is to run one DMX cable between them and have the units act as master & slave with only one unit's wireless switched on. One cable doesn't usually add much to the set up time.

ah - I didn't think of that! That would be a good solution - put one into slave mode, and then whatever happens, they're in sync - cheers Mark
