I have a Strand Patt 223 (older version of the 743) with the old P28 based lampholder.

Does anyone know of anywhere still selling the kits to convert these over to GX 9.5?

If you can't find any you could always try making some. I bought some a few years back from Stage LX and all they are is a cube of aluminium, of appropriate size to get the filament in the right place, with a GX 9.5 holder screwed onto one surface and the opposite surface drilled and tapped to match the existing P28 mounting screw holes in the lantern. Since then I have made my own when needed.

Richard is officially "retired", so this is now a private number. IIRC the kits were made by Jim Laws for RB, but I believe Jim is now also "retired". As ma1421 says, it is only a block of aluminium with 4 (?) tapped screw holes & a GX 9.5 holder.

You may find it easier to look for a T.14 lamp; they still seem to be available. I had about 20 of them until fairly recently (when the venue closed they went in a skip before I could rescue them).

I just had a look inside my other 223 and that's exactly what's in it so I'll just sacrifice a prelude or something for the GX 9.5 holder (can't remember if they're the right pin size but I'll find something or just buy one online) then get a block of aluminium and copy the other 223.

I was considering that at first but from what I can see T14 lamps are £30 compared to about £10 for a T19 so a T19 and new holder (just over £16 on thomann) would work out cheaper in the long run.

Prelude will have a GY9.5 base for 500/650W lamps like T18/T25. You need a GX9.5 from a 1kW lantern for a T11/T19 lamp.

Stage Electrics have them: (sorry for the mobile link)

Oops, that's me being an idiot and misreading the datasheet.

Cheers for the link, might as well go with that and get a few lamps while I'm at it.
