MarkAllwood Posted May 10, 2005 Posted May 10, 2005 I recently did a gig with a band I work for and due to the lay out of the pub I had to situate myself and the sound desk right infront of the speaker.. and boy did I know about it for the next two days! I think we may be playing this venue as a regular gig now which concerncs me. although I dont want to miss out on the work I certainly dont wanna f*ck up my heairng before im 20! basically I was wondering if wearing earplugs will a). help save me from going deaf and b). reduce my ability to mix properly? cheers folks Mark
paulears Posted May 10, 2005 Posted May 10, 2005 answer is yes and yes. Seriously, there is a recent thread on the subject of plugs, but mixing from in front of the speaker won't give you (with or without earplugs) any idea of what it really sounds like.
david.elsbury Posted May 11, 2005 Posted May 11, 2005 I'm ordering a couple of pairs of ER-20's as soon as their sales people get back to me, I'll put a post in when I get them and I'll let you know how I find them.David
GMPSA Posted May 11, 2005 Posted May 11, 2005 Have a look at www.sensorcom.com. Tons of stuff to protect your ears...
