Hi,

simple request for information here, as Philips Selecon didn't seem to have an answer: Does anybody know roughly when the 1.2k Fresnel was superceded by the Rama? I'm trying to work out ages for my lantern stock, with a view to eventual replacement, but it's difficult to make an argument when you don't know if something is twelve or twenty years old (I'm favouring the latter by the way).

many thanks

If its the rama with the safety bond combined, not THAT old.

http://www.seleconlight.com/images/stories/files/english/productspecs/rama/rama_150_fft_fresnel.pdf says 2014 for the new update. I would guess 2010/2012 was original.

The older style easily 2000 or so, but migt be wrong on that.

It's the older type I need to know about, but 2000 odd is when I was thinking was most likely, just hoping someone actually knew.

As a side note, I know of an educational establishment that would possibly be interested in some 1.2 kW fresnels if you're looking to get rid. Shoot me a PM. ?

I bought 50 "New Style" Ramas in the summer of 2007, and I don't recall them being the "latest thing" then so I'd guess they were introduced 2005 ish?

Rama was introduced late 2005, but the other several types of 1K/1.2K frezzies continued to be available for some time thereafter, the Rama and the others were in parallel production.

Sorry Mate, until my theatre reopens and we have a sensible stock management system in place, anything useful is staying put!
